Supplier quote comparison
Compare two supplier quotes side by side
The lowest total is often the quote that left something out. Upload two quotes or bids and DocGlue lines up matching items, shows scope only one supplier included, and compares quantities, unit prices, tax and totals.
Quote A vs quote b
Upload two PDFs, or try the Cedar Peak sample. Put the document you agreed to first (a quote, an order, or the earlier version) and the one you are checking second. Differences show what changed in the second one. If a quote and an invoice are the wrong way round, DocGlue swaps them and tells you. Text you can select is read as written; a scanned page is read only when it has no selectable text.
Auto reads symbols such as R, $, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD. Pick a currency when an amount has no symbol. If the two PDFs clearly use different currencies, the report warns you and does not subtract them.
Try sample pair loads a Cedar Peak quote and invoice, then runs the same comparison as an upload. Nothing is saved.

Add the Quote A and the Quote B. Results list matched fields, differences, missing lines, and uncertain matches.
Why quote comparison is harder than it looks
Suppliers name the same work differently, split or bundle lines, and use different units. Installation might be a separate line in one quote and hidden inside a unit price in another. Comparing totals alone rewards the quote that excluded the most.
How DocGlue approaches it
DocGlue compares business meaning, not text similarity, and it is not a highlighter that marks every pixel on the page. It extracts every line from both quotes, pairs equivalent items, and reports three things: items both suppliers quoted and how their price or quantity differs, items only one supplier quoted, and the totals and tax on each.
For a team workflow, see DocGlue for procurement. To check the invoice that follows, use quote vs invoice.
Questions
How does DocGlue match items across quotes?
By SKU when both quotes have one, then by normalized description, quantity and unit price. Pairs it is not sure about are marked Uncertain instead of being forced together.
Can I compare three or more quotes?
Yes. The multi-quote view compares up to 5 quotes (at least 2) in one matrix and shows what each supplier left out. It is free during early access.
Does the cheapest quote win?
No. DocGlue marks the lowest total as a fact, next to the items that quote left out. It does not choose a supplier; it shows what each quote includes so you can compare like with like.
