Accounts payable
Check every invoice against what was agreed.
Before an invoice is approved, DocGlue compares it with the quote or purchase order and lists every line, quantity, price and total that does not match.
The problem
Invoice checks are either slow or skipped.
Matching an invoice to its purchase order means finding both documents, reading every line and redoing the maths. On a busy day, most invoices get a glance at the total.
Overbilling rarely shows up in the total alone. It hides in a quantity that moved, a unit price that crept up, or a surcharge nobody ordered.
Documents this covers
- Supplier invoices and tax invoices
- Purchase orders
- Quotes and estimates
- Credit notes
- Delivery notes and receipts
The DocGlue workflow
From two PDFs to a decision.
- 01
Upload the pair
The purchase order or quote on one side, the invoice on the other. Leave auto-detect on or choose the pair.
- 02
Fields and lines are extracted
PO number, supplier, dates, subtotal, tax, total and every line item are read from both documents.
- 03
Every value is compared
Matched lines are checked for quantity and price. Lines on only one document are listed separately.
- 04
Approve or query
Each finding shows both values and the page they came from, ready to send to the supplier.
The result
What DocGlue checks.
- Purchase order number on both documents
- Ordered versus billed quantity
- Unit price changes per line
- Lines that appear only on the invoice
- Subtotal, tax and total
What you get
- Discrepancies found before payment, not at month end
- A written record for each query to a supplier
- The same check applied to every invoice, not just the large ones
| Field | Purchase order | Invoice | Difference |
|---|---|---|---|
| Copy paper A4 | Qty 40 · $4.20 | Qty 40 · $4.65 | +$18.00 |
| Delivery surcharge | Not ordered | $185.00 | Invoice only |
| Total | $1,512.00 | $1,715.00 | +$203.00 |

Purchase order vs invoice
Upload two PDFs, or try the Cedar Peak sample. Put the document you agreed to first (a quote, an order, or the earlier version) and the one you are checking second. Differences show what changed in the second one. If a quote and an invoice are the wrong way round, DocGlue swaps them and tells you. Text you can select is read as written; a scanned page is read only when it has no selectable text.
Auto reads symbols such as R, $, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD. Pick a currency when an amount has no symbol. If the two PDFs clearly use different currencies, the report warns you and does not subtract them.
Try sample pair loads a Cedar Peak quote and invoice, then runs the same comparison as an upload. Nothing is saved.

FAQ
Accounts payable questions.
Is this three-way matching?
Today DocGlue compares two documents at a time, for example purchase order vs invoice or delivery note vs invoice. Comparing three documents together is planned.
Does DocGlue connect to my accounting system?
Not yet. Results can be exported as CSV or JSON. Integrations with accounting systems are planned.
Can it read scanned invoices?
Yes. Pages without selectable text are read with OCR, in English, up to 6 scanned pages per file today.
More solutions
Procurement
The lowest total is not always the cheapest quote. DocGlue lines up what each supplier actually included, so you choose on scope, not on the bottom line alone.
Construction
Projects change. DocGlue shows exactly what changed between the quote, the variation and the invoice, so scope creep is a decision, not a surprise.
Finance
Revised invoices, credit notes and statements should tell one consistent story. DocGlue shows where they do not.
