Construction
Keep variations and invoices tied to the original quote.
Projects change. DocGlue shows exactly what changed between the quote, the variation and the invoice, so scope creep is a decision, not a surprise.
The problem
Scope moves faster than paperwork.
A contractor quotes a job, then sends a change order, then an invoice that reflects both, plus a few things discussed on site. Each document is reasonable on its own.
Reconciling them by hand across long, line-heavy PDFs is where added work and repriced materials slip through.
Documents this covers
- Quotes and estimates
- Change orders and variations
- Progress and final invoices
- Contracts and scopes of work
- Delivery notes
The DocGlue workflow
From two PDFs to a decision.
- 01
Upload the original and the change
Quote and change order, quote and invoice, or two versions of a scope of work.
- 02
Lines are extracted
Materials, labour, quantities, unit prices and totals are read from both, including scanned pages.
- 03
Changes are matched
Added, removed and repriced lines are separated from the lines that still agree.
- 04
Approve with evidence
Share the report with the client or contractor, with page references for every change.
The result
What DocGlue checks.
- Lines added or removed after the original quote
- Quantity and price changes on existing lines
- New totals against the original
- Wording changes in scopes of work and contract versions
- Reference and contract numbers
What you get
- Every change against the original quote in one list
- Faster sign-off on variations
- A clear record when a final invoice is disputed
| Field | Original | Change order | Difference |

Original vs change order
Upload two PDFs, or try the Cedar Peak sample. Put the document you agreed to first (a quote, an order, or the earlier version) and the one you are checking second. Differences show what changed in the second one. If a quote and an invoice are the wrong way round, DocGlue swaps them and tells you. Text you can select is read as written; a scanned page is read only when it has no selectable text.
Auto reads symbols such as R, $, EUR, GBP, CAD, and AUD. Pick a currency when an amount has no symbol. If the two PDFs clearly use different currencies, the report warns you and does not subtract them.
Try sample pair loads a Cedar Peak quote and invoice, then runs the same comparison as an upload. Nothing is saved.

FAQ
Construction questions.
Can DocGlue handle long, multi-page quotes?
Yes, up to 40 pages per file today. Paid plans raise the limit.
Does it understand construction terminology?
It matches lines by description, quantity and price rather than by trade vocabulary. Lines it cannot match confidently are marked Uncertain.
Is this a replacement for a quantity surveyor?
No. DocGlue finds differences quickly. Judging whether they are fair still needs a professional.
More solutions
Procurement
The lowest total is not always the cheapest quote. DocGlue lines up what each supplier actually included, so you choose on scope, not on the bottom line alone.
Accounts payable
Before an invoice is approved, DocGlue compares it with the quote or purchase order and lists every line, quantity, price and total that does not match.
Finance
Revised invoices, credit notes and statements should tell one consistent story. DocGlue shows where they do not.
Stop comparing documents line by line.
